1995 H1 Wagon

I am getting ready to buy a H1. I need some help. I looked at shipping costs from Pensylvania to Miami. I was quoted $1420. Now my question is this, if I were to drive it back to Miami, what kind of gas mileage could I expect? I just wanted to see if it saved me some $$$ driving it compared to shipping it....

It's about 1400 miles away from me....

Any help?

Total miles to be travelled/driven

divided by /

Vehicle's MPG rating (i.e. 8 or 9)

Multiplied by X

Current price per gallon.

That should work to figure out how much it will cost you in gas.

Gasser or diesel? In '95 they had both...

In my '95 diesel I get about 14mpg if I keep it between 55-65 mph.
At 70-75mph I get closer to 11mpg.

In a gasser I would expect between 7-9mpg on the highway, but I can't speak from personal experience.

I think he was asking for the actual MPG to expect, since Hummers do not report an official MPG rating... not how to do the math on what it will cost. ;)
A diesel H1 usually gets between 11-14 depending on how hard you drive it. An H2 or a gasser H1 will get lower mileage that that, typically.

It's a gasser....so I was guessing 10mpg....so I was not to far off.

Also thanks for the math...I'm not to sharp...so let's go over this....:D

Here's what I got:

say 1500 miles divided by 8 = 157

157 x $3.50 (being over priced) = $654.00

Is my math right or fuzzy? hehehe

RE: 1995 H1 Wagon

actually,

1500/8 = 187.5

187.5 x $3.50 = $4,837,176

just kidding.

It's $656.25

see...my math does suck!:D

So about 50% of shipping cost...are 1500 miles more worth the $700 bucks?

The truck has 80K miles on it....

Damn decisions!!!

You forgot the price to actually get THERE to pick it up!

Don't sweat your math (wo)man. Let me tell you. All those times in high school and college when people told me "OH you will use ALL this Calculus and trig and stuff in the real world" were just in one ear and out the other. I have not used Calculus once in the "real world" in my life. Don't worry about it (even though this is just plain algebra!) :) That's what we are here for, to make you edubacated :) Who cares. We are all Hummer lovers from all walks of life. We don't judge, except on golf Partners......

If you have a golf partner like Dennis's, we will look the other way on your math,

Who's Dennis and does he need a new best friend?

I figure a Southwest flight should be able to get me there for about $100 bucks...

Shipping is looking more enticing...
