Trying to find some answers here, and getting conflicting information.

Looking @ buying a 1994 6.5 non-turbo / 4L80E

Is the injection pump mechanical or electronic?
Is an ECM used on the 6.5 non-turbo engine?
Is a transmission controller used on the 4L80E transmission?

Hummer dealership informed me the tranny controller is $500+

Shop where the engine is states neither the engine or transmission are electronically controlled.
If this is the case what controls the shifts/converter lock-up?

The price is right, but not if I have to spend big bucks for a controller (or 2), and repair the cut engine harness.

 

the HUMMERS only came with electronically controlled injection pumps on TURBO versions of the 6.5 and of course the Dmax. The 4L80E is an electronically controlled Transmission (hence the "e" at the end of the designation). So, there is a TCM. There is a wealth of information at www.humvee.net and www.flashoffroad.com spend some time on those sites as well as Lynch's site for year to year changes....
