Lightbulb 08 H3 - Installing LED in footwell - need help

I am trying to install LED bulbs into the front footwell of a Hummer H3 2008. It appears the bulb is not replaceable. I could be wrong. It appears that the bulp is housed into a plastic connector and the 2 wires lead way up into the dash. I guess I could snip the wires but.....

Is there a guide to replacing these bulbs, a trick?
I know relearning the TPMS sensor requires a dance around the vehicle, but I would think replacing a footwell bulb would be a push-twist event.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Well, I ordered:
Install Bay Quick Disconnect Male Nylon 22/18 Gauge .250 - 100 Pack
Amico Car Truck T10 W5W 194 LED Light Bulb Socket Holder Wire Connector 5 Pcs
Install Bay 3MRTT T-Tap 22/18 Gauge, Red 100 Pack
iJDMTOY 12-SMD 168 194 2825 T10 LED License Plate Light Bulbs, Xenon White

With these I can wire tap high up the footwell lamp wires, add male connectors to sockets and plug into the taps, plug in LED, and put into place.

If it looks acceptable, then I can try to cut the wire to the OEM lamp and see if any crazy Hummer alert triggers
If it does, I can reconnect wire
If it does not, all is good

Stuff should arrive on Thursday, so I could have a report back here by the weekend - depends on weather

Very cool. I should have done that (multiple LEDs ) . I just wire tapped and added the addition bulb and tucked it in the wired mess up under the dash. So I got the original build and led working together, but the led outshines it.
My camera does not show the LEDs effects.
Maybe I can borrow an iPhone and take pics

You can upgrade down the road, pick up some LED strobe light kit off amazon and just made a harness and linked it to the OEM foot light, orange positive and white negative.

The bulbs do come out. I had to use a small jewelers screwdriver. But they do come out.

Yup; they're just standard wedge style bulbs. I replaced mine with LEDs. They were a bit tight, but after wiggling a bit, they unplugged.
