Default Gobi Ladder ?

Just bought a Gobi ladder , checking the online instructions it shows a hole to be drilled .. Im not sure drilling a hole on the top is a good idea . Could anyone clarified if a drilling is needed , if so is there any treatment to avoid rust

Btw is there any roof rack which allow mounting on the OEM crossbars

THANK YOU

Expect tons of wind noise if you have sun roof open. I got rid of mine for this reason.

I couldn't bring myself to drill the hole. I just used the single hole already there per the instructions. I've never had any issue and used to climb up the thing pretty regularly.

That's a good thing to know
I'm been debating if drilling a hole or cancel the order . I will only use the existing holes then

Thx

No problem. I may order a passenger side ladder for mine to have 2 ladders. Plus I think I'd need the upgraded lift supports since the stockers struggle with the one ladder.

Btw it takes 4-6 weeks to get it. Gobi built it by orders

GOBI Hummer H2 Rear Heavy Duty Hatch Spring Kit (Pair): Hummer Parts Club

Those are the heavy duty lift shocks. I can't believe the ladders are $220!
