i felt i needed a 2nd car, putting lots of miles on h3 and i like backup if i have a problem. found a nice 2000 sport,very little rust except floorpans.replaced them and some rusted brake lines,doing some other rust proofing,rust bullet?? some elect trbl, but love the gutsy 4.0 6.its a lightweight compared to h3 and certainly not the comfort, or "monsoon " sound, but a fun ride as a backup. my first ever black, has tint windows and a sunroof, rare in those i hear. no nicities like remote entry, missed,
and i didnt realize how spoiled i am with auto lights on/off , auto everything. gotta ues a key to get in!!
so i got two sets of 4wd, kinda like the black,will need paint next yr if all goes well.

 

did a lot of little fixes, total $ 1500 invested and its a fun ride.dont know what to expect,the 2000 had a bad head! they often crack. and a little piston slap but runs great right now at 168000. not good mileage. no accurate reading yet,just driving and saving miles on my h3 70000 since 2010.
ill miss the heated leather soon!
btw the h3 radio is the best ive ever used,even on am that i use a lot.miss monsoon,wish i could get a monsoon working but???
i still dont offroad much except my back field for xercize.
btw, almost rust free after new floorpans, lots of work there.

Yeah I've owned 4 wranglers 2 YJ's and 2 TJ's
They both have frame and body mount issues specific to each other but their are some awesome you tube videos to watch, body mounts are a bitch but they last forever if you replace them right, removing the flaky inner frame rust is very important and using a Easton product or Por 15 will fix it good

oops, got lost from my own thread!, sorry.
the jeep is cherokee sport. been running great after a NEW starter. giving my h3 a break.

but:

3 months ago on a warm day i tried my 2000 air cond. the comp short cycled. i added a little freon and it stayed on. added just a little more and buttoned up.
it worked flawlessly , COLD, till 4 days ago.
started up and felt/heard a faint vibration with air on, none with air off.
it also dissappeared when i shifted into gear/loaded the engine.
a day later the faint vib stayed in/out of gear, air still cold
2 days ago the air was getting warmer, not as cold.
i added a little freon, no help.
today no cold at all, heard slight squeal. not sure if belt or compressor.
compressor turns on/off with air /heat.
air temp varies from hot to cool/ambient so blend door seems to be ok.
good hot heat, no cold with comp running.

any ideas?i dont know air other than adding a little freon as most do.
stuck now.
