I've been using CRC Electronic Cleaner for many years, never been disappointed, and always recommended! Today I had a contact failure on my 5-burner gas range. Position 1 burner would not ignite, however, I could turn on #1 and it would ignite with any of the other ***** turned to lite, (all ignitors operate when turning any **** to lite). That isolates the failure to the #1 switch, simply pull the 5 *****, remove 4 screws, and take the front panel off.
The only problem, the switch case is hot melted, and tandem with the other 4 switches, however, not sealed. Before cutting it open, I decided to pulled the #1 switch off the valve, grabbed the CRC and a towel, sprayed in every case seam, front/back and sides where the wires travel through. Gave it a minute to dry, then pressed the ignitor switch back on the valve, turned the ****, voilą ignitor switch works again! CRC just saved me 50bucks!
I have said in other threads, everybody here should have a can of that stuff, these trucks are getting old. I have been using it for a LONG time. 50+ year old Oldsmobiles and motorcycles require some attention.
My 2yr old gas grill igniter stopped working, checked the battery voltage=1.5v. Grabbed my can of CRC Electronic Cleaner and sprayed inside the battery case. voilą igniter works again! CRC just saved me another 30bucks!
