Bought a 2023 Jeep

I know. I will probably be hearing about this! But, we have been looking for a new SUV to replace our Ford Explorer. We almost bought a GMC Acadia Denali yesterday, but something told us to pass on it. Today, I woke up with no thoughts on buying the Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited we drove late yesterday. We drove by the dealership and my wife mentioned that she really liked it. I mean, a month ago she had the Jeep Grand Cherokee in dead last place. We went in to see if they would negotiate and got more for our trade in than we had been offered. Too make things worse, the sales manager wrote down a number that I never expected them to accept! Gee whiz! I had no choice! It has everything except for a sunroof and that's really not really important to us. So...we bought it and it nowi es with us. Right next to our 2007 H3X Hummer! I hope they will become great friends! So, let's hear it. I expect a solid drubbing. LOL

Nope. Own a Jeep xj. It's a crap shoot with any Jeep product. My gf works in auto industry. She owns a Jeep and the engine had to be replaced just 2 years after buying it lol. Lucky she is well liked and knows people. It was covered with her warranty i begged her to buy. My Jeep TJ was brand new and luvd it but it was a nightmare. Traded it at a lost to buy my H3. My xj is a beast but everything is needed some work. It's a Jeep thing lol! More like quality control issue thing. Right now she has a friend with a brand new $50 k Jeep and it's lemon law lawer time it's so bad. My brother on the other hand owned a 99 tj and it was dependable as all get out.

As long as you know what your getting in to and you like it. Of course a good price is always a plus.

I can't say much about the Jeep Grand Cherokee... But I know that the GMC Acadia Denaliis a very good reliable SUV

Yes, Ski.Dive, I agree with you that the Acadia Denali is an excellent ride! We drove four of them. But, when we got into the new Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, we both felt that Jeep had done a terrific job.

My 1 and ONLY experience driving a CHEEP, was driving my brothers 1978 Cherokee(back in the early '80's), which left me disabled on the road, due to the right front axle shaft u-joint separating, and made it immobile. My GM vehicles over the years NEVER left me on the road! I STILL TRUST THE BRAND! https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hum...e0cd4ecebb.jpg

Hope this doesn't sting to bad Hummerz but it just might be that relative that you just dont see eye to eye :)
Copy and Paste: Hummer and Jeep are more than just competitors, they're blood relatives. In 1971, a year after American Motors bought the Jeep brand, it spun off a separate company called AM General to make Jeeps for government use, like the famous postal Jeep.
AM General later made the High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle, or HumVee. That vehicle became famous during its service in the first Iraq war, just as the original Jeep had during World War II.Today, AM General continues to make vehicles for military and other uses, even without Hummer

Congrats on the new vehicle, not exactly a jeep, But here is what blocks my H2 daily its the Wife's it was her decision and she has been a heep fan and owned one when i met her. she lost it to theft and finally had to have another one. it now suffers from death wobble but have to say it is more economical than the H2 and we had to choose it for a recent 1500 mile road trip that i drove most of the way. it is far better than the 1997 model she used to have.

I appreciate your loyalty to GM, Hummerz. Back in the early 2000's, I was cruising east on Interstate 90 east of the Washington Cascades. It was close to sundown. All of a sudden, my 1998 Chevrolet Blazer lurched to the right and slid off the highway. Being almost dark, I had limited visibility as to what was in front of me. The vehicle was barely controllable as I raced forward to God knows what. Finally, the vehicle slid to a stop. When I got out of the Blazer, I saw a 12'-15' drop-off just three feet in front of the Blazer's bumper! The upper ball joint had snapped which allowed the right front wheel to flip down on the ground. Just a few minutes later a highway patrolman arrived and he was stunned at how lucky I had been! My H3X Hummer is the first GM product since that day!

In 1998, General Motors (GM) purchased the brand name from AM General and marketed three vehicles: the original Hummer H1, based on the military Humvee, as well as the new H2 and H3 models that were based on smaller, civilian-market GM platforms.
