Now right off the bat, it's only got 32k on it and the brake pads are shot to the point of almost being into the rotors. Any suggestions for aftermarket brands etc...??? Simply what is the best?? Thx Bryan

Congrats on the Alpha. I have an 08 H3 Alpha and love it. Not sure on the brake pads as I am still on the first set of OEM pads at 60K miles.

almost had to be someone riding the brakes?? most reports are 50 to 60k. look good at rotors for wear, overheating.
there have been lots of comments on pads,,do search or buy good quality. ez job they say.

Thanks for the feedback, the H3 came from Nashville TN and as heavy as it is it's not surprising that someone could of rode the brakes in that mountainous area.

Dealers have to disclose if a car was a rental, lease, rebuilt, salvaged, etc.... Pull a carfax if you are concerned.

Thanks, had not thought of the carfax. I do believe they will honor the repair cost if the pads need replaced......I have only had it two weeks..

Welcome and Congrats on the new 08 H3 Alpha! I have had 3 of the 08 H3 Alphas so as you can tell I'm kind of partial to that year.

As far as the brakes, I replaced mine with the OEM pads due to the life expectancy of the OEM pads (45-60K in most cases). It is an easy job with simple tools and there is a write-up on it here. As Tom said I would check the rotors to see if they need to be turned. They shouldn't but if there are deep grooves in them have them turned at your local auto parts store. It's more complicated to R&R the rotors.
