Default New/Old member!!

Thanks for the membership! Wife and I are in SE Kansas and have been the owners of a 2010 H3 base for over 5yrs. Our experience has been mixed to say the least. The first two years were AMAZING! The last 3 1/2, not so much…..the Beautiful Beast has been sitting in my brother in law’s yard with a bad engine. We had had it towed from Baton Rouge to Amarillo (where it puked and broke our hearts), back to Kansas where it sat. 😭 UNTIL NOW!!! 😁 She’s got a new engine and ready to prowl again!!! I’ve had a lot of vehicles in my life (we are retired) that I wished that I still had but, I’ve never kept a vehicle sitting for this long wanting to put it back on the road like I have this one! I don’t care if I’m 80 yrs old and need a stepladder to get in and out, I’ll chance the broken hip!! LOL! I would say bury me in it but, I wouldn’t want to deprive someone else the happiness that it brings me!

Welcome and glad to see you are happy prowling again.

I would be interested in what did the engine in. Catastrophic failure or what?

Many "mechanics" do not know their butt from a beehive and will shy away from repairing the I5s out of either incompetence or ignorance. They are more difficult to work on than 4s or 6s to some.

Shaft main bearing, it would start but, made a helluva noise to where you had to shut it off immediately! The shop I had do the install gave me the option of a used motor (1 with 60k and one with 130k miles on them) or rebuilt with a 4yr unlimited mile warranty. I told him, why would I want a used that may potentially have the same issue! It had 131k when it died! So, it’s been in my driveway for a week waiting for the next paycheck this Friday to register/tag because the last time it was registered was 2021. I can’t wait and my wife is more excited than I am! 😂
