New guy
I'm the new guy, from south Louisiana but spend the summers in Colorado. We have a lot we park the motorhome on near Gunnison in the mountains. I have a Tahoe 4x4 I tow behind the motorhome but looking for something a bit smaller and more capable to explore all of the offroad trails near me.
One concern I have is how well does the 5 cylinder handling driving on Hwy. 50 through the mountains and passes. It's an hour drive to town so I'll be driving weekly or more. I know the Alpha would be more powerful to handle mountain highway driving and have the same engine in my Tahoe and a couple trucks so familiar and confident in that engine. I don't want to be the one going slow up the mountains holding up everybody. There are very few Alphas for sale me nearby, more with the I-5. Power seems adequate but not sure how it'll be in the mountains. |

Nothing wrong with the I5. For mountain pass driving I would suggest finding an Alpha.
Especially if you are loading it down with supplies once a week. |

You can go either way and be satisfied. Depends on your pocketbook and need for speed. |

Ah the days of Taylor Lake Res., Gunnison, and Tin Cup. Wheeled all over that in our '75 K5 Blazer when visiting Mom's side of the family. An I5 H3 has more HP and only a tad less TQ than that old K5, and a whole bunch more gearing. |
