Default Biggest size tires on stock rim

I currently have 285/75/16. What is the biggest size tire I can put on without it rubbing.

How hard is it raise my hummer about an inch up? Does this cost alot?

Thanks!

Should be able to run 315's (35") tires. then you will have to deal with the loss of power, gas milage and the transmission hunting for the right gear all the time.

There are members and owners that have 35" tires on their H3's. they llok great and work for off roading , however the single most complaint comes from lack of power with the 5Cyl. engine. larger rubber will only multiply the problem. for everyday use, the 285's
(33's) are sufficient.

Lots of info on this site and others regarding tires and lfits. Do a search and reach out to members for personal experience. Below is a link to Trail Duty's lift leveling kit with extended bump stops and upgraded shocks. Crank the torsion bars a few rounds, get an alignment, and you're done.

Congrats on the new ride!

I have 35's on mine but would just about be happy to trade them for a set of stock stuff. Mileage loss, loss of power, tranny searching for gear, not worth it. They do look great though

I was just asking you in your newb thread about your wheels. How wide are they? Are those mounted on 18s or bigger?

They are 33 12.5 on 20's , I wasn't thinking when I put 35. 33's are bad enough.

I just picked up a set of the factory chromies though today on feebay, for fairly cheap. Can't wait to get them, Though I will miss the looks of these. Function over form.
