Which H3T Model is best for me?

I have been hemming and hawing over whats the best model for me and options. So figured I'd ask the guys that own them.

Things I am looking for:
Front & Rear Lockers
Ability to runs 35" tires constantly
Automatic Transmission
Sunroof?

I have no plans to do any pulling so not sure if the Alpha is really what I need to purchase or is the I5 version better suited for me. What is the most reliable engine out of the 2? and are the axles the same in both H3T's except for the gearing? Also any other reliability issues?

Oh also in about a year I am moving to an area that is decently hilly. Not sure if that will effect choice or not.

Thanks in advance

Accroding to your criteria above:
2009-2010 HUMMER H3T Alpha OffRoad Package. Pretty much the 'Holy Grail" of the H3T line. Expect to pay a premium due to the V8, Lockers, 4:1 Transfercase and the fact they didn't make very many with that specific optin package. Especially in 2010.

2009-2010 HUMMER H3T Alpha OffRoad Package with under 50,000 miles will be asking over $33,000. A little over 80,000 miles will be asking about $30,000. Over 100,000 miles will be in the $25,000 range.

Do you plan on doing a lot of serious OffRoading with this H3T? If not, I would suggest leaving the OffRoad Package (Front & Rear Lockers plus 4:1 Transfer Case) off of your list. It will help to widen your search from the very narrow parameters you have talked about looking for above.

Tainter is right, you are going to pay a premium! I consider myself lucky, I was able to find a 2009 H3T alpha offroad package with 75k for $26,000.

Yep, listen to Taint. He is the man to go to with any real questions and knows what he's talking about. Good luck and hope to see another T owner on here soon.

Thanks for the guidance. Just got back from vacation but after reading what you wrote. I'll start hunting for the alpha but I think only like 900 or so were made correct?. I only do mild off-roading but I am not worried about the extra cost of the alpha version. It's a truck I plan on keeping for many years.

Question for you guys anything I should lookout for when looking over the h3t? Like any common problem spots or issues? Also what's some salt free states to buy from? I live in Ontario and refuse to buy anything from here after my last ordeal.

Thanks
