Where did you run your wire for oil pressure gauge?

For those of you who installed an oil pressure gauge (whether mechanical or electric) where did you run the wire to get to the inside?

I am planning to install one on the dash just left of the center console. Wondering if there's some good spots to snake the wire.

If you use an OBD dongle like a ScanGauge (II or III) you can monitor up to 9+ vehicle parameters (ScanGauge II) on the same screen. One of those being oil pressure and multiple others.

There are some parameters you can monitor via OBD, oil pressure is not one of them.

H3 has an oil pressure switch, once oil pressure drops low enough it illuminates the idiot light and a chime.

I use a bluetooth OBD module linked to the Torque Pro app. It does indeed monitor oil pressure, along with many other things (trans temp, oil temp, coolant temp, fuel trims, intake temp, etc, etc, etc).

This is on an Alpha? I'm curious what PID you are using to get oil pressure, because like MadDog, I don't believe there is a pressure indicator on the I5, only a switch. I use torque pro as well, so if there is a pressure indicator, I'd love to know!

EDIT:
Did a little digging, and the Alpha's do have an analog pressure sensor; I5's do not.

I have dongle and use Torque Pro app to monitor my temps, had to program it to pick up transmission temp, but didn't know you can monitor oil pressure too. Was under the impression that H3 only comes with an oil pressure switch sensor. Maybe it's different on the V8 version?

On I5 this is not possible.

Question, at what pressure does the oil sensor trigger anyway? My gauge reads about 13-14psi at idle, can drop to 10psi coming off the freeway. Wonder how low is too low. Using Mobil 1 oil and filter, 5w-30 high milage full synthetic.

Minimum idle pressure is listed as 12 psi. I imagine the oil pressure switch would be close to that.

Hmm.. haven't gotten the idiot light warning yet, even though it dipped below 12psi.
