Weird speaker issue...

Well my H3 finally ended up with the heating/ac fan issue. I replaced the wiring harness and the relay. I am not sure it happened then or not, but the drivers door speaker quit working. The rest are still working great. Any ideas if I could have pulled something loose at the fan relay area, or if it is something else. Thanks

I'm thinking that the 2 are unrelated. IF, you removed your radio to access the wiring (which is behind the glove box) then you may have a pin not connected at the back of the radio.

Other than that it might just be that the speakers life was over at almost the same time as your fix. What year H3? How many miles?

its hard to tell if the tweeter is working but with the rear monsoon amp the door and tweeter are wired separatly.
the regular radio wires the door and tweeter with the same 2 wires.

if its monsoon and the tweeter works, the wires are from the rear amp. not up front.
if the up front wires are messed up going to the rear, the tweet will be dead too.!!

you really need to be looking at the diagram to see this , or just pull it apart and wiggle the connectors!

I didn't pull the radio. I just basically laid upside down in the passenger seat to do the swap. I was hoping it was unrelated. I figured he speaker just crapped out. It is an 07 H3 with between 70,000-75,000 on the clock.

Not sure if it helps. It is a base model with the plain aim CD PLAYER. This thing is the no frills version. 5-speed,cloth seats, and all of the standard equipment. I am not sure if it has the monsoon system, it doesn't say it anywhere.

Your (cheap azzed) OEM speakers are toast, or toasting. Both my left speakers quit within a day or two of each other so I though I lost the left channel to my stereo. Nope, just junk OEM speakers. I replaced them all with Pioneer TS-A1674R 600W 6.5" 3-Way Coaxial Speakers mounted in XTC speaker baffles. Huge difference in sound.

OEM left, Pioneer right
Attachment 12650
