Default Throttle Position Sensor Help!!

I have an 07 H3, form the research I've done on the forum, it seems that iu need to replace the TPS.

My question is....

Can i replace the only the sensor which is attached to the TB, or do i have to buy the whole TB?

Once replaced, is there anything else that needs to be done (reprogram PCM, etc)?

Thanks in advance

You can buy a new or used TB, the sensor is basically not replaceable by itself. Not all TBs are the same, so make sure to get one for your 07. IF I remember correctly, the 06/07 is different that the 08+. GM calls it a fuel injection air meter body. About $200.00 for a new one through ebay, maybe $280 at the dealer. No programming necessary, your PCM should be able to recognize it within 10-20 seconds after start up.

I say "basically not replaceable" because if you were in the business of rebuilding or tuning TBs it can be done, but it is not something worth messing with as a first and one time thing.... if you get my drift.

I do not know what the problem is leading to your diagnosis, but the pedal position sensor (built into the pedal assembly) has to be in sync with the TPS and if either one is bad, they can mimic some symptoms of the other to a certain degree.

I would also consider looking into a Port Polished TB at this point, you can buy those new, or rebuilt.

Best of luck, and thanks for the PM.

The do not use a true gasket, more like an O ring, your old one can be reused unless it is torn or cracked. When you remove the TB the gasket ring usually will stay in its grove on the intake.

Trying to revive this thread for some help.

It turns out that I might have a bad cable on the connector that hooks up to the TB.

I've attempted to look for that connector but have no idea what its called or where I can find it.

Can anyone help with this?

Thanks in advance
