I'm thinking about upsizing to 17x9 Dropstar rims for my Hummer and was wondering what everyone thinks is the best All Terrain tire. I know most are going to say mud tires but it won't see off road that often but will be driven quit a bit on the highywas. Any suggestions?

 

Goodyear Dura Trac. They have been great to me so far. I use my H3 as a daily driver along with light off roading and fishing trips. 80-100 miles a day.

 

The best AT tires are anything american made by an american company.

I like the Mickey Thompson ATZs (not the plus version).

 

Although I'm still on factory wheels, I have absolutley loved my Nitto Terra Grapplers. Not too noisy, have over 50k on them right now, looks like I've got 20k left on them... Oh, and great in sand and dirt.. Never tried on rocks..

 

Terra Grapplers and the Dura Tracs are the two I've been told the most about. I've heard great things about the longivity of the Terra Grapplers but haven't heard much of the Dura Tracs but they are sure a great looking wheel. Thanks guys for your help. Anyone else wanna put their two cents in, I'm ordering them today or tomorrow. The tires are going on the Dropstar DS645B on my Boulder Gray Hummer. What do you think?

 

I can't say about grapplers . i have the duratracs and they are perfect for me. little bit of offending. and had some fun in the snow with them. i didn't go far in the sand just drove out a road past a.lighthouse and around a point to a sand beach and across it and up the rock hill. if i make it there again this summer will have pics but worked well in sand. if you have snow i would say duratracs though.for sure. it was just like driving on pavement unless u punch it. and i drive about a hundred miles every two weeks to go get groceries and they are good on the highway and pretty quiet too.

My Mickey Thompson ATZ's have performed well on and off road. They are the best tires I've ever owned. American made as well!

 

+1 for Duratracs. I've only run Duratracs and the stock tires on my H3/H3t, but I've run various ATs and MTs on Jeeps I've owned in the past. Not an apples to apples comparison, but of all my previous tires I like the Duratracs the best.

 

Take a look at the Cooper Discoverer S/T. American made AND owned. An aggressive AT but still not quite a mud tire.
