Stiff Gear Shifter

I've noticed in the last few days when I shift my gear shifter from park to drive, when it gets down to drive it feels a little "stiff." Going from Drive to D3 (which I have never, ever used) is very stiff. But then going back to parking is for the most part fine. All driveability (and transmission shifting while driving) seems fine and as per usual.

Just noticed it more stiff in and around D and the back of D/ closer to D3.

Is something gummed up? Should I take apart and lube something? Looking for any advice from anyone whose had similar issues

you can inspect your shift cable at the transmission to see if it is rusted or binding. while your there check the state of the bushing that holds it onto the transmission range selector.

Where is that located? Fairly easy to get to with a creeper/ light?

literally right on the side of the transmission. https://www.gmpartsgiant.com/parts/g...-25800702.html

Great, thanks for the heads up! Will do and will get back to you. Maybe its gummed/ gunked up, will clean and lube.
