Default Rust on door

I have a 2008 hummer h3 that has rust on the rear pass door at the bottom. I want to get it fixed and was told by a body shop that I need a new door or a door from another hummer without rust that could be painted white. My question is can an exterior shell be bought, then painted and replaced with my rusted one (I.e., keeping my interior parts) or do I really need a whole door. Any ideas?

Go to a different body shop.

Yes you can buy a door shell, paint it, and transfer your stuff to the door. But you could probably find a complete door and just do a swap as well.

Please include a picture of the rust with your request, because it seems highly suspect that a body shop can't fix it. We had an 2006 H3 repaired for the exact reason and it was peeling paint an bleeding rusty water marks.

Sorry, I just saw your reply. Here it is. I used some of the rock chip paint to cover it up. Thx

Default starts on inside

need to treat inside of all doors. i squirt oil in mine yearly but its not enuf.
i got a jeep with little rust, amazing!, and cleaned inside of 4 doors and painted with "rust bullet". did bottoms hoping it will slow/stop new rust.
body shop needs to cut out bad stuff ,weld new, then treat for future rust, it NEVER STOPS without real work on inside.

Agreed. And yes that is exactly where the 06 h3 I referenced rusted.
