I am going to be making my own Gobi stealth with sunroof style roof rack and I need to know some of the specs of the rack. Is anyone willing to do some measuring for me or does anyone have cut sheets on dimensions?? I checked the web and I can only find sheets without measurements. Any help would be great, Im going to build it regardless but it would be nice to have some specs. Thanks in advanced!!

 

Alright me and another engineer found several measurements, and we are going to scale the measurements to all of the ones we can't find and input into CAD. This will be my drawing and template to make my own rack. I will update when I get drawing together and throughout the build.

just finalized measurements, just started getting the base together. welded this up last weekend and started on the top bar offset where the lights go. more pics to come

 

Here are my mounting brackets they are simple u-strut brackets just welded these up to make a L brackets with a -10% rake to lean towards the base of rack

are you specifically trying to copy a gobi rack? You should try to make an H3 version of this rack!

 

That is a different design I would like it to go the length of the roof and Im making an insert to utilize the sunroof or not.

This is a 4' x 8' sheet of expanded steel 9 gauge, this will nee to be cut to size for the floor



Base is welded to the proper length, need to clean up welds


This is my offset for the top rail where the lights will sit

Got the back of the top rail bent up need to weld it up to the correct length, its getting there.
