I noticed both the base and lux models in my dealer's inventory had a 2 to 1 ratio for 4 wheel lo, and my adventure pkg has a 4 to 1 ratio. Is that also part of the adventure pkg.?

You're not talking about my setup, are you? I'm in Michigan, and my cute little steel box will work on any H3 or H3T, bolt-on without replacing the bumper.

Adventure model comes with 4:1 t-case ratio, non-adventure is something like 2.73:1

No, the guy's name is DeFelice, and his unit replaces the front bumper, with the winch completely hidden in behind where the bumper front would be. All you see is the roller fairlead and the cable hook from the front or sides.

atv jr, I call total B.S. on this!

There is absolutly no difference in the front bumper mounting points or depth to the radiator support of an 06/07/08/09/10 H3 I5and an 08/09/10 Alpha except the crash bar thingy and it is removable. I have an 08 Alpha and an 09 I5 and I have taken the front bumpers off of both and mounted the exact same aftermarket bumpers on them.

Heck they did it for the "Trail Hugger 08 H3 Alpha"!

What prey-tell is his reason for saying this???

It was 2 1/2 years ago when I put this winch on my H3. As I remember, way back then, he said the mount wouldn't fit the Alpha.

I just now pulled up the DeFelice website, and he is saying that if you have the Alpha, you will have to get a different skid plate to use his mount. So, apparently, it was a skid plate issue way back then.

It didn't matter to me because I wanted the 5 spd man trans more that I wanted a V8. Now you know what I know.

Here is my first post and comment. I go t my first ride in a H3 with Adventure package over the weekend while visiting a buddy in Frackville. I was so suprised and impressed with this vehicle. Suprised part was the solid feel of the doors closing(like a vault) and interior did not remind of a GM product at all.
Though this vehicle I guess started life as a trailblazer once its beefed up to the hummer standards its nothing like it at all. I love this vehicle.
I am currently looking around my area for one.
I used the search and this topic was great the forum members answered my question stoo. On how to tell between a H3 and factory H3 adventure package. Thanks from me also so I know what to look for. This is going to be a great hunt

I picked the perfect forum to join!!

It is more so true in todays market. They will swap pretty much anything from H3 to H3 just to make the sale. Also if you are purchasing from an independent owner he/she may have either upgraded to the 285s on a Base/Lux or down graded to 265s becuse they got a better deal/someone told them that's what it came with(dumb tire store)/found a good deal on Chrome OEM rims with 265s to replace their alum. ones/etc.

The only way to actually know is to check the dash and/or put it in 4lo and lock the rear while on jack stands. I have also seen dealers put a picture of an Adventure/OffRoad dash on a base/lux before also. Tricky bastards, we gotta know our stuff to make sure we get what we want!
Not true.... The tag in the door will indicate that it came with the 285 tires from the factory and is in fact an adventure package. Doesn't matter who changed what tire to what spec....
