Default Rare option - factory engine block heater

I bet I am the only one here who ordered one of these. When the temp gets down to zero and below you just plug the cord into the outlet and not only is the start up fast but the car is warm if you have it plugged in before hand.

I had one in my CJ7 when I lived in northern AZ and we had so cold winters going 10 to 15 below. The Jeep had to stay outside and It always started fast.

It does get cold up in Northern Az. Az is not just a desert. When I lived in PAYsonAZ some winters the temp reached -10 to -15. Not all winters were that cold.

To put this into prespective for all of the Yanks that dont know the metric system, -40C is equal to -40F. That is the only time on the two scales where the temp is the same. The Last time I saw temps like that was in Superior, WI. It was -40 with a moderate wind. The wind chill was -70F. With card board on the radiator I still had to keep the heater motor on low otherwise it would remove all of the heat and blow cold air.

I think my friends that live in Alaska keep their cars plugged into an electrical outlet whenever the vehicle is parked overnight during winter.
