PRND321 not illuminating & No crank No start issue
 
I have a 2007 H3. It will not crank or start. Everything on the dash lights up however the PRND321 does not illuminate when turning the key on, I also notice the shifter lock will not release even though my brake lights illuminate just fine, and when I turn the key on I am not sure if the Security light is supposed to go out when leaving the key on but mine stays illuminated, and when I try to crank I here a slight clicking at the steering column maybe from a relay.\Brand new battery installed. However car has sat for quite a few months.
Any suggestions would be great.

I would research "pass lock" or "passlock" inside this forum.

Welcome to HF.

And............. are you still trying to use the Crappy Azzed OEM Battery Terminal Connectors? If so, hack them off and replace with a quality aftermarket set like Stingers or your favorite brand. #1 First mod to be done to every H3/H3T.

What is the resting voltage of your "Brand new battery"? Just because it is new does not mean it did not sit on a shelf for months or that it was fully charged when you installed it.

I have. But no mention on if that will actually prevent the PRND321 from illuminating.

Fully charged the battery and did a load test on it. Battery is ok.
Terminals for battery have been replaced also.

The OEM Battery Terminals poor and inconsistent connection can cause like 100 different issues, some minor, other preventing the truck from driving.

If that did not resolve your issue look into passlock. You can get under it and check the wires to the starter including the trigger wire. Mover them around, physically bending and moving back and forth, up and down to see if they are compromised and if they do not, try it then as they can corrode internally and prevent your start.

Last, check to see if the trans shifter safety/neutral switch is properly connected and test for voltage if you can.

Will do but can you explain how these specific checks can cause the PRND321 to not illuminate?

Sounds like your Trans Neutral Safety Switch (Trans Position Sensor) is shorted/not powered up/has bad connection. You can do the easy and check the fuse (you look up which one for the AT).

If the switch does not know it is in either neutral or park, it will not allow the starter to engage, and it is what sends the signal to the dash for what gear you have the shifter in,

A pic from hummerz........ it is on the top/side of the Trans. Pull the connectors, clean with CRC Electronics Cleaner, let dry and reconnect. Look for wiring compromise, splits, insulation fraying or broken wires. You can check for power at the connector with KOEO.

Doc, look at you using the KOEO!
Might want to explain for those who do not know that it stands for "Key on engine off" since "O" is used for Off and On in the same acronym. ;)
