Power programmer
E-mailed Hypertech today and they have no plans on making a programmer for the H-3.[:@]
Bummer! As underpowered as these things are you would think that there would be some performance parts availible. |

As underpowered as these things are you would think that there would be some performance parts availible. Jet Performance is working on a programmed Module as we speak..Sometime this summer it will out for the H3....Maybe you can give them a call as I did and suggest they hurry it up. |
RE: Power programmer
Funny, I don't think the H3 with 4.56 gears is really underpowered. I've driven a new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and the H3 gets it better then the Unlimited.
That isn't to say a little more omph wouldn't be nice, but its not a V8...or a vette. They are geared towards offroad, and there its has PLENTY of power. The Vortec 3500 is a common motor across the GM truck lines, hopefully we'll see some real power parts or a well engineered turbo or supercharger kit. |
RE: Power programmer
I really thought Hypertech would come through also. That's too bad.

After that, just add to the fleet and enjoy the best of both worlds. Put "some aside" and pick up a nice new Solstice GXP, BMW M Roadster, CTS V, M3, any sport bike, or whatever else fulfills your asphalt needs! |
RE: Power programmer
If you really want big power out of the V3500, you'll have to look at something like the SuperCharger kit that MagnaCharger is working on:
www.magnacharger.com It also looks like UniChip is working on a solution for the V3500, but I don't know if its Colorado/Canyon specific or if it will work for the H3 also. http://www.unichip.us/ It'd sure be fun to have ~300'ish HP on the H3, but at what cost to your wallet and to your warranty. |
RE: Power programmer
I'm surprised you can't just have a tuner who can do GM cars chip it right now. The right tune shouldn't cost you any gas mileage either.

RE: Power programmer
The problem is as I was told..The market on these things was/is geared more for the V8 and diesels and some V6s'...The technology or market didn't demand anything for a 5 cylinder..Now as the H3 are flooding the market the demand for them is there as compared to the Colorado...But you're right, you'd think with a flip of a switch, it could be set up for a 5 cylinder..boddaboom-boddabing

RE: Power programmer
There is a company in Arizona that we use here at Lund Hummer that can calibrate your Hummer H3 and WOW what a differance. I am selling them as fast as I have them programmed. The company is called premier performance. Email me and I will give you the guy's info. There are also a Volant dealer.

RE: Power programmer
What's the costs..And what's involved..In otherwords, is the programming permanent and/or can it be returned to factory settings..I'm very interested..Obviously you guys have no problem with validating the warrany after the re-programming either.
Thanks..This maybe the break through we've been waiting for.[8D] |
