Pcv valve

Hi, I bought an 07 h3 3.7L 150,000 mi on the clock.
removed intake airbox to clean throttle body and noticed oil at the rear of the valve cover. All my research tells me it's the pcv valve. So my question is, should I replace the valve cover now or do I have time before the worst?

Did you replace the hose?

Airmech85 01-11-2020 09:27 PM

Yes just replaced it the other day

Airmech85 01-11-2020 09:28 PM

The hose was definitely worn out, oil soaked and falling apart

Do you still have a leak?

Haven't seen any on the valve cover but I haven't looked inside the airbox again yet either. Might have oil inside the air box again

The butterfly valve in the throttle body was covered in oil as well as the air box with some kind of sludge mix and kinda smelled like antifreeze

Blow by.. Make sure to clean the throttle body/intake asap.

Already did that, cleaned the throttle body, MAF, air intake box, replaced the spark plugs, changed the pcv valve rubber hose, changed the engine oil, changed the air filter and topped off the engine coolant. Coolant was low. I won't know if that fixed it until I'm able to look inside the air box again

Is this blow by caused by a faulty pcv valve?
