Default Optima Battery Question

Ok the GM battery that came with my H3 is a P.O.S. I want to get an Optima battery. I did a search and I cant figure out what battery I should get. I see people recommend the red and yellow tops and I have seen 2 or 3 different series numbers but I dont know what one I should get. Can anyone recommend one to me? I have a winch, GPS, Sirius sat radio, cell phone and DVD player all running off the system.

Thanks

One is a deep cycle, one is not.

If I recall, one can be recharged once FULLY drained, the other cannot.

I would get the yellow top, handle more draw than the red top. The stuff you run isn't really that much especially cause I doubt you'll be winching out while listening to sat radio and watching a dvd all while talking on your cell. If you can't find a yellow to fit then a red would also be fine for your needs.

Although the Optima are great batteries (I think the Red top is what your are after) But, they are a little too tall for the battery box..Some modifications must be done to make the top fit.

the red and yellows are both car/truck batteries and are not deep cycle like a marine battery....that is a blue top. The yelow is a dual purpose battery which mens it is a starting/cranking battery and also a deep cycle to handle winching and stuff when the truck is not running.Yellows are used alotby audiophile's.

Forget the cell phone. You will drop it while you are offroading. Use the built in speakerphone, it will makewatching the DVD easier.

I'm about to invest in a yellow top for my Mustang. It's the one that is deep cycle and it will withstand more drains than the red top. From what I've heard the red top isn't that much better than an Interstate battery.
