Default Optima Battery Install

I wanted to upgrade to an Optima battery when my original died. I'd read on the forum that there was a problem putting the battery cover back on because the terminals on the Optima were different than on the original. Here's my solution:

Put the cover over the battery and then laid out where there were clearance problems. Cut off the extra material. Cleaned it up and put it back in.

What is the part number on the yellow-Top that you used.

I went to the Optima site and it only recomends the Red-Top

Good Job.
I too, ended up cutting my top cover after my install of a single Red Top Optima.
Very simple proceedure
I was on the fence about the dual battery setup, which looks great, but only went with the single battery.
My old Delco is sitting on the bench and still holds a charge. I'll keep it for emergency purposes.

i stashed the complete stock box for a future restore if i sell to a purist. added a 2nd isolated reg batt for backup.
the bunger setup,supreme,outshines my "ugly"but functual stuff!,nice.
i still think my brass conn setup is the best yet

Sorry, which battery did you choose? The guy at Optima suggested the D7525 (yellow top) but it has side posts....
