Odometer stopped working
The odometer on my used H3 just stopped working. When I test drove it last week it was moving fine but I noticed that the TPMS light was on. I figured it was either b/c the temp was low so the pressure went down or since there were 20" wheels on it, maybe the guy didn't put the sensors in or the system wasn't reprogrammed for the new tire pressure. When I picked it up the TPMS light was off but I noticed after a couple hours that the mileage wasn't changing. If there were no sensors in the wheels and the dealer did something to get the TPMS light to stay off, could this have caused the odometer to stop? If not, what else could have caused it? The display is working and there is a number there, it's just not changing. Thanks for any info.

If the dash/odometer were changed out for a new one that had higher miles than the one that came out the miles would not change until the vehicle catches up with the new odometer's mileage. Dunno why I remember that or from where tho...
Incorrect, all of the Odometer information is stored and relayed to the DIC from the BCM. Swap out a cluster and the DIC will receive the correct mileage for the current rig regardless of what mileage was on the replacement cluster from a previous rig.
the op said the mileage didnt change. didnt say if it stayed where it was,or is now zero?
so the dic could be ok and info not getting there from bcm?. or bad wires?
changing the cluster is a big job, might not fix it.
will a scan tool show the mileage?, changing?, in the bcm?.

You are correct, I had to te-read the tech bulletin. The H3's and Colorado/Canyon store it in the IBCM, the H2's use the IPC along with the Tahoe/Yukon. Dang "Old-Timers" syndrome again.
