Dave....K&N has a filter for the 2008 Alpha and H3. K&N part # 33-2408, I bought a couple last week.
As to Alpha intake products, for most it is a matter of potential customer demand. There are more than 25
times as many H3, Chevy Colorado, and GMC Canyondriversout there to potentially buy a product than Alpha owners.
The Alpha's intakeis model specific, so it is taking the intake system people longer to point resources in that direction
of product development.

H3 Dude......in the truest sense you are correct that the stock intake does draw air from outside the underhood
heated area, but.....its performance sucks! Pun intended.
The throttle body resonator box and accordian style indirect route of the intake hose dramatically impact air flow
volume and speed to the trottle body inlet.

As a final note......there are plenty of CAT back exhaust kits out there for the 2008 H3 and even the Alpha has one by Magnaflow..... 16832.

OK here are the picts of my new 2008 H3 with the 2006 K&N CAI on it. The dealer swapped it for me when I bout it the other day. My only concern is the little hose. Does that really need a filter?

The airfilter box emissions breather hose...."that little hose".... should be filtered. The reason it is attached to the air filter box is if you hit some watter crossing or mud hole you can put that material into your fuel evap system. I would think you could find a generic filter to fit it, like a valve cover breather filter at the auto parts store that slides into aPVC grommet? On a positive note, since your dealer did that, I guess they would foot the bill?

Great pisc BTW!!!

The one I really wanted to see, you did not post. I wanted to see your MAF sensor, it almost appears (and I cannot quite see it) that they swapped out your MAF with your 06????? IDK Could you please post a pic of the MAF....the electrical connector screwed into the back side of the plastic pipe closer to the filter end? Thanks brud.

Yah I can take a pict later of that. I am actually sitting here at the dealer right now waiting to get the top marker lights put on, These clowns dont have them in stock. They sent someone to the "warehouse" to get em. I have been here since 830am and its 130 now. I would have left but the dealer is 110 miles from cheyenne. My sales guy said somthing about getting me a voucher or somthing for the techs screw up.... IDK.

But from my memory I do belive they used the '06 MAF sensor. But around dinner time I will snap some shots.

Hopefully you don't have the same problem I had. I got the marker lights on my 08 a few months ago and whenever I went over 60 on the highway they started vibrating. It felt like they would fly off if I went any faster. I went back and they put more weatherstripping in there and they've been fine, but if you have to go 100 miles to the dealer, you'll be hating your second trip there.

I had that exact problem with my '06. I brought it back and they fixed it for about a year, but then it started again.

Just for your consideration. I would take a tape measure and get the specs for your filter on an Alpha. I found out a long time ago K&N often uses the same filter or almost the same, with a different part number. I neededa filter for a 92 LeSabre. It was $75. I noticed the stockFramfilters for it and my Impala were the same part number. So I bought a Impala SS K&N for the Buick and it was only $38. The moral of the story is that for a little of your time a Alpha owner may find a filter for a different application that will work. They other neat thing is most parts stores have the book with the measurements listed.

I was considering getting a throttle body spacer for my alpha. I know a lot of you here think it will bea waste of time and money, however the spacers increase intake volume which will allow for more torque.Iinstalled one on my trailblazer with a 4.2Lalong with a cold air intake and it made a differenceI gained better throttle response and smoother acceleration at higher speeds.I was thinking of getting one for a 5.3L for either a silverado or trailblazer. Are the intakes the same?
