Default RE: New Hummer, Question about Alarm.

ORIGINAL: Hummer Guy

Factory alarm is relatively worthless...but many would say most car alarms are. Most car thieves are pros these days, so alarm or not, they're going to take it. Some folks on here may have systems they like....
I disagree Brian..The Hummer's alarm is more than adequate. Once someone got past the doors by disabling the horns.... (there should also able a hood sensor and a volumetric cabin sensor to really make it good), they would have to punch out the ignition switch, but that would be fruitless too, because they wouldn't be able to crank it over because of the immobilizer system, which as you know requires the correct key in proximity to the sensor...Besides all that, it would take too long and be very discouraging to *** with..So the Hummer's stock alarm is quite sufficient.

I'm not sure..we were having a storm that night..I called the dealership and they said they are not sure why either, but if it happens again to call..he did say there were a lot of problems with the 06 going off due to the back hatch not being latched proberly..but so far no problem with the 07.
