I have a slight "pinging" from the exhaust on pretty much every vehicle but.....
Do you have the A/C on? If so Have you checked where the A/C Condensor drain tube is? Might be dislocated and spitting on the exhaust?

I get the same noise when I take a bottled water out of the fridge and leave it on the counter without fully tightening the cap.
Not from my H3, nor any of the other 4 vehicles in my driveway!
As metal heats and cools, it expands and contracts!!! While it is cooling, there may be a "weak spot" which will cause a "ping". Outside temperature & humidity can enhance this..
Take a look at the exhaust joints.. Look for carbon deposits (black spot), just may need a good tightening. GL
BTW, the more unburned fuel your vehicle is "exhausting", the hotter the exhaust will get, which can aggravate those joints & the cat.

It's likely your forward heat shield or more specifically, the stainless zip-ties they use to fasten the back part of the forward shield.
My tie broke shortly after I bought my vehicle. I put a stainless hose clamp on in its place. Started pinging like hell. Had it in to dealer for some warranty work and asked them to replace my temporary clamp with the thinner factory tie. They said they just use a stainless clamp for a replacement as the factory zip-ties weren't holding up and ping just as bad anyway.
Took it home and removed my clamp on the back of the shield and just bent the shield up ever so slightly so the shield wouldn't rattle on the exhaust and then moved the clamp to the front of the shield (where it's actually spot welded to the pipe) to hold it up in place.
No more ping at all.
