My custom H3 Winch install.
This was pure hell......but worth it!
Not an install for the faint hearted. It's tons of Cut, Hack, Chop, Weld, chop, chop, repeat. Basic idea was to make it look almost like it was an option from the factory. Here's a few pics of how it's going... https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...13750616_n.jpg https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...97132692_n.jpg https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...65172545_n.jpg https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...82386919_n.jpg https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...39207894_n.jpg https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...92176409_n.jpg |

Looks great. I was close to doing this same sort of thing but instead put an air compressor where your winch is. Sucks wanting to do projects but trying to save money. One of these days ill bite the bullet and fab something up too.

Where does the fairlead mount? It looks like it's inside. Won't the line rub on the outside edges of the hole you cut in the bumper during any kind of angle pull?

I'm attaching the Steel Hawse fairlead to the winch plate. I'm using the Warn steel Hawse, it's over an inch thick so, it's actually going to stick out farther than anything else. |
That's the cleanest instal I've ever seen. Way to go!
