Max tire size?

Guy from North of Norway here, in the need for some help.
Im literally the only person in my city owning a Hummer H3, and 1/30 owners in Norway. So you see, not many of this car here. Im soon going to buy a 1,25" body lift for my H3, for which I understand will give me enough space for 37" inch tires. But i need some help here. In Norway we dont use "32-,35-,37" etc. We only use "275-60-R18" etc. You catch my drift. So what is 37"s in this other calculation method? Also, what kind of rimsize do I need for this?

I would suggest you use 35s on stock wheels. 37s with an I5 will have local Snails and Turtles tailgating you and flipping you off when they pass.

Go to any site that sells off road tires, in the USA we list them just like you do, but provide the inch conversion as well. Every tire manufacturer will be different for different model tires.

Like Doc says, and, you don't need to buy any lift kit if you wanna put 35"MTs or ATs on your Truck. You can lift the front a bit or 2" max by simply crank the torsion bars at the torsion keys. After that don't forget an wheel alignment , and OEM only!

Thanks for responding so fast. I really need al the help I can get here, and forgive me for potentially stupid questions. But as you know "better safe than sorry".
My rims are R18, which was installed by the previously owner. I want to use these rims, but max the possibility of the tires.
What are these torsion bars you are talking about? This is new to me. Are you saying I dont need to buy the body lift kit after all? What does this torsion adjustment do? how does it work? is it only to gain hight to the front of the H3? Hell, what IS this torsion thing?:p
And when finishing this adjustment, what tires can i THEN have on my R18 rims?

There are few videos on YouTube how to crank torsion bars.

Your front suspension is torsion based, big steel pipe is your front spring, its twisting action is what holds your front tire in its current position.
You can twist it more, thus lifting your truck's front.

285/75/16 - is "stock" max size tire for 16 inch rims.
285/65/18 is for 18 inch rims.

These are 33 inch ones.

Recommended sizes if you want to go bigger:
305/65R18
305/70R18

I am fine with 285/75/16, I even have slight rubbing when steering wheel is locked, but I think there is some other problem going on.

Something along the lines.

You can go to tire shops and ask for 33 inch ones for 18 rims.

285/75R18 = 34.8 tall x11.2 wide
295/70R18 = 34.3 tall X11.6 wide
305/70R18 = 34.8 tall x12 wide
325/65R18 = 34.6 tall x12.8 wide
315/70R18 = 35.4 tall x12.4 wide

Yes you don't need this lift kit!
Look the video but don't go to far, when doing the job, like 2" - 2.5" max. You will mesure 23" from Center hub to Fender bottom then, think that the front half shaft , will work in an different angles then as OEM, if cranked too much they can use faster also.
Easy done like on video, and much easier with a good impact driver, don't forget an wheel aliment by a pro after that. If you want for the rear, buy a set of longer shackles like 1.5 or 2" longer.

Thank You so much for good info. Everywhere I read, it says I can have 35" tires on a "normal" H3, and 37" inch after the body lift i was thinking about. But how many inches do I increase by doing this torsion-stuff-thing?
Is this increasement damaging more on the car then normal wear and tear?
