Leaking Fuel and Hesitant to start

Hey fellas for the past few weeks my h3 has been hesitant to start. I changed my 02 sensor and still having problems with starting. Any further ideas? 93,755 miles

Now my fuel tank is leaking fuel from the very top where the hoses connect. Only leaking while started. I dropped the tank cover and its leaking down the side where the exhaust and drive train are. Any pointers if it would be rusted out up there or if I need a new fuel pump?

To replace fuel pump will I need to drop the whole tank? I looked on YouTube and couldn't find much.

Welcome to HF.

The fuel pump connections to the fuel lines rot out, known corrosion spot. There have been other threads on it here.

Yes, drop the fuel tank and then fix/replace what is rotted out. It only leaks when running because the fuel pump is pressurizing the system. Shut it off, the fuel continues to leak until the fuel line pressure is gone. Hence, when you start it there is a lag while the fuel pump catches up building pressure again until it starts. O2 sensors are not usually a cause for starting problems.

Only wealthy people can afford to squirt gas on the ground while driving. They apparently do not mine bursting into flames either? Are you rolling in dough? ;)
