Installing An Oil Pressure Gauge In H3?
#11
I have been around muscle cars and 4x4's all my life and have never heard a story of that little tiny oil line "pumping" oil out on anyone and causing harm. I always buy a braided stainless #4 line. That copper or plastic line that comes with them is a joke.
Mechanical all the way

If you wish to have your new gauges have the same brightness as you factory gauges all you need to do is pull the headlight switch and probe it on the back side of the plug till you find the wire that controls the cluster lights and then turn the dimmer up/down to insure you have the correct wire, simple.

Gee.....so I guess since you never heard of it, you're saying it couldn't possibly happen?? Exactly how much dirty engine oil would you say it would take for "that little tiny oil line pumping" to fukk up your carpeting??

oil pressure switch
I just put a mechanical oil pressure gauge in my 07 H3 because my light would come on at idle.I first replaced the stock sending unit worked for 3weeks then started doing it again. The sending unit thred is 16mm b 2.0 and you cant find and adapter so I took my old sending unit apart drilled and taped the center to 1/4 npt and hooked up the mechanical. At idle it has about 15psi

good idea, 15 seems low but somewhere i read gm called for 10lb/1000 rpm. like 40 lb at 4000.
im used to seeing 40 to 50 cruising at 60 mph, around 2000 rpm in most vehicles i owned
what do you see at 2000?
id like to have a "t" and use both guage and sender.
if your light is coming on you must be low huh?
