An example of "How to win friends and influence people"? I'm sure there are kinder words to get your point across without diminishing his character in front of friends. Lighten up man.

I spend time here and on other auto forums periodically to find and share helpful info,as well as share thoughts and opinions on various topics, which is all I was doing above.
Look, it's real simple- it doesn't have anything to do with me diminishing one's character. That's nottheintentionof my above post. Hecan diminish his own character by boasting that he beat some unknown little POS car by doing 60-70mph in a 25.
Anyone who doesn't thinkthat'sidiotic is missing a few screws themselves.

This forum continues to amaze me.
Let's face it people, the H3 is not that quick. It's ok to admitit, although I know it's probably tough for some of you.
I'm ok with it. I didn't buy the H3 to drive fast. It's a fun vehicle for other reasons altogether.
I certainly didn'y buy it to drive like a f*cking maniacon streets witha 25mph speed limit to "prove a point".
Who cares? Just enjoy driving it for what it is.

I don't know you at all, so I'll be careful not to judge to harshly- but your post is idiotic, as is theactual event that you posted about.
First off- the behavior of both you and the other driver was extremely immature, not to mention flat out dangerous.
Trust me, I'm no stickler for doing the speed limit. I'vecertainly had my fair share of tix, but in higher speed limit ranges.
A 25 speed limit only exists in areas where there are very specific factors that can causedanger. Homes withtons of people, both in and out of other vehicles, coming and going. You said there were parked cars along the street. People, animals, other vehicles, KIDS!- often come shooting out from between parked cars unexpectedly.
Your life (assuming you lived) would be MUCH different today than it was last week if you had smashed into something/someone. Not to mention the effect on other lives that may have been invloved.
Second(as if the above isn't enough)- You said you "proved your point". Who in the hell were you trying to prove something to? Do you feel better about yourself because you beat "some type of small car" in an H3? If so, you shouldn't. You didn't prove anything. Except maybe what the other driver may have already suspected about Hummer drivers- that they're most likely ****** who willspeed up on purpose to not let you over and are possibly trying to compensate for their own inadaquacies by trying to prove they're "better" than everyone else.
Whatever the other guy was driving, he must not have wanted to "win" too bad, or he is simply a horrible driver. As, even the slowest of most small cars presently on the streets shouldbeat an H3 off the line. Unless he was in a go-kart. Then, maybe you "won".

Yes there were cars parked ahead and as I said we remained in our respective lanes up until the next intersection. Now to a person that comprehends what they read, that means the park cars must have been BEYOND the next intersection. I also stated that I did not continue past that intersection. There were no parked cars where we were, there were no connecting streets and there were no pedestrians.
The point I proved was to myself and to the other driver. To me it was the H3 is not as slow as people say and to the other driver it was; next time you want to cut someone off make sure you can make it.
You say it must have been a bad driver or a go-kart. You are making a really stupid assumption as you weren't there. Maybe you are bad driver if you can't make your H3 jump off the line faster than you have.

Me thinks I'm talking over Greenshirts head. It was a tip thathis post does more to **** people off than influence or inform them. It obvioushe doesn't give a **** how we feel about him...I guess that's a good thing? Make any more sense? Probably not.

I don't want to offend anyone, but i never really get the urge to race my H3. Why should i? So what if it's not fast, or some punks prelude can beat it? Hummer...or honda? I'm happy. Besides, if i really wanted to be nasty i could play mr monster truck...but i would never do that.

RE: I raced a car and they didn't win
I wouldn't race my H3 on a bet! I got it up to 85 on the Interstate the other day and I thought the engine was going to blow. 4.56:1 gears are not exactly "highway" gears, even in overdrive. It runs best around 70-75 MPH and that's where I keep it.
