Default HVAC **** lights are out, radio buttons black wearing off.

I have two annoyances that I want to look into taking care of on the 06 H3i just got.

The radio buttons and power ***** have the black coating wearing off and at night they look bad. Does anyone make an adhesive backed vinyl cut to go over them and make them look good again?

Also, typical of older vehicles, some of the HVAC lights are out. Has there been any tutorials or investigations to the bulbs that can soldered into the printed circuit board to restore the lighting? That should be an easy at home fix if we knew the proper bulbs to order before treating into it.

Can't help on the black wearing off your *****.
My first guess is to remove unit from vehicle, mask area and paint with flat black Fusion paint, for plastics. Yes, it might be labor intensive, but I don't think anyone has or sells vinyl pressure sensitive covers.

As far as the replacement lights, yes I have changed out window switch, A/C and four wheel drive lights with original bulbs.
Here is the link for the bulbs, below.
Some bulbs, like the window switches, have lights that just twist out and then replace with new bulb and base and use the blue condom from old bulb
The 4 wheel controls require soldering, but it a very doable job.
My A/C controls used the removable base bulb.

Do you know of a bulb number? I don't use Ebay/Paypal. Can not ever use them. I've been banned for life after they tried to take my money and hold it during a 2-4 week investigation and so I called my credit card and reported them as fraudulent charges to get my $850 back.

Unless they show a number on the ebay site, then no number.
I have searched everywhere for these and no dice. Dealer only wants to change out the whole module. No thanks.
Have some else order them.

You can get just the bulbs with leads, but then you will have even more work to do with the modules that use the plastic bases

Default Number of back light bulbs in H3

Can someone tell me how many backlights are in each door panel. After I notice one of my HVAC bulbs burned out I noticed the driver door switches are also unlit. Are there 5 or 6 in the Driver side? Need to order right number of bulbs. Thanks anybody
