Husband is looking at H3’s. Example of one he showed me in link below. I have questions regarding the overall reputation of this year and wondering why this one in particular is still for…… sale… the dealer stated that “he saved it for us.” 🙄🙏🏻????

I like it but read somewhere on here about some mechanical “seat”(?) issues which I do not know what that means so looking for more info on that!

Also read that later years models had some more bang in them?

We will likely off road but not anything GNARLY by any means and also we will like to TOW and I can’t put a limit on that so maybe just knowing what this baby can do?

Looks to be a 2006 H3 with the LUX (luxury) Package.
2006 was the least "powered" H3 with a 3.5L. In 2007 they went to a 3.7L.
1. I wouldn't plan on towing much with any I5 (Inline 5 cylinder 3.5L or 3.7L) H3. Especially with the aftermarket wheels/tires which rob power and the transmission will NOT last very long.
2. If an 06 H3 with 160K should have either already shown the valve seat issue or had the recall done.
3. Missing the front towhooks (could have been used as a dingy behind a motor home which has it's own "issues" if not done properly).
4. Missing the center roof portion of the clearance lights. They are impossible to find and VERY expensive if you do ($1000+). The holes in the roof will LEAK into the headliner and possibly adversely effect the BCM.
5. Spare tire is useless with the larger aftermarket tires on the 4 touching the tarmac. H3s are kind of AWD/Full time 4x4 hybrid. Tires must be within a small percentage of overall height in order to not effect the driveline and drivetrain.
6. 06-07 1/2 had the window and lock controls where only a T-rex can easily reach them. 07 1/2+ will have the redesigned door panels.
