I still have to make an appointment for my 2006 as I have the letter but I have had the car for 5 years and not one problem with the switch. Still needs to be done, but if ya have not caught fire in 5 years using various setting I would not worry too much in the short term.

Angry

I brought in my 2008 H3 for the recall on Feb 28, 2016. Ever since then I had a slight smell of coolant inside…thought it was a result of the work done and it would eventually go away. On April 1, 2016 I had my windows fogging up with a mist coming out of the vents on the passenger side. It got so bad it looked like my car was on fire..smoking like a stage smoke machine.
Took it to the dealer on April 4 and they said I had to change the heater core due to a leak..(approx 1500$CAN)…still waiting for the vehicle to be completed for Thursday April 7. Dealer told me that it is approx. 1000 of labor+parts.

I asked if it was related to a malfunction of the replaced part and immediately I got a “NO”. My truck was working fine for 8 years and now 30 days after the recall work was done my heater core starts to leak….questionable.

Always tell them you want to see the parts that they take off your vehicle. Never trust a repair shop, especially a dealership !
