Default Ham Radio in an H3?

I have a Yaesu FT-857 transceicer which I want tio mount in my 2006 H3. Any suggestions on mouting location? I do have the remot kit for it, so that is an option. Also, what about antennas and antenna locations?

I have a scanner in my truck that I managed to mount underneath the passenger side by the glove compartment. Only problem is that the compartment now does not fully open all the way, so it kind of took that away a little, but I have noticed other people put it over on the passenger side of the truck. Not sure how big the unit is.

I have an 08 H3 and have a Yaesu FT-8900 transciever with the remote mount kit. I have the remote head mounted just below the 12 volt accessory ports on the dash console, between the gear shifter and the dash console. The actual transciever is mounted under the rear seat behind the driver side.

For the antenna, I got an adjustable tailgate mount that mounts with set screws to the edge of the tail gate, and the antenna wire is run thru the inside of the tail gate thru the flexible wiring harness sleeve into the passenger compartment. Hope this helps. If you need any more info, feel free to let me know.

Default Ham Radio Installation

I have a Icom 208H installed in my H3. I have the remote head attached to the dash with industrial strength velcro from Walmart. The base unit is attached to a support bracket under the dash with 24 inch tyraps. The sound from the internal speaker sounds great.

It has been mounted for 2 years, and has been bounced around the hills at Moab.

I have a TS-2000 with the RC-2000 head mounted on the dash. Used the foot mount supplied in the RC-2000 kit and slid under a DayStar dash tray.

I have a yaesu ft-7900R installed with the separation kit. Face plate sits on the dash mounted with some weird Velcro stuff and the body is under the passenger seat. The antenna is mounted on the roof, not the magnet mount junk, I drilled a hole and installed it properly.

If that bothers you then perhaps this isn't the forum for me. My post was 100% on topic.
