H3 Shift Knob Cap... Manual Transmission

Good morning guys, quick question re. the shift knob cap on the OEM stick on the H3. Would anyone happen to know if there is a P/N for this part? I have searched high and low and can find only the entire stick assembly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It only comes as one unit, the knob, lower shaft and the boot.

$180 to replace a plastic cover that probably costs 5 bucks? WTF? Anyone know if any of the Colorado/Canyon's use the same shift assembly?

Well, your right that is a nice bite out of your wallet.
The shift knob assembly has a specific diameter hollow shaft and a set screw to make its connection
to the shift pin coming out if the top of the transmission.
Just make sure if you find any other part that might work, that you can slide it over the transmission pin.
Also, the boot material has that special plastic collar around the outside. Any new
boot would need this same plastic attachment

I shortened my shifter years ago.
I cut the transmission pin down about 1.5" and then shortened the shift lever shaft the same amount and drilled a new hole
then tapped the hole for the set screw. It has been fine for years.
I hope you find what you need. Let us know.

Best bet is like WFTURNER did, pull the boot and shaft to cut the old knob off and weld or drill/tap a stud on for a universal knob.

Brother
My best to you and family; both now and always!

Recently joined this forum and found your 2007 retort for the plastic shift knob. Ours pops in/out and we snap it back; though sooner or later the last plastic tip will snap.
Tried to go the long route and fix the problem via dealing with Moor Cadillac, Chantllly, VA; suffice it to say they are thieves!

I'm not as mechanically inclined as yourself, though will give it a shot. Such a pain in the ass for such a small plastic knob ;(
