Anyone experience their instrument cluster going blank when you first start the vehicle, this has happened twice. Each time it has happened within a few miles the cluster comes to life. The second time the battery light came on also and stayed on even after the cluster came on. Any assistance would be appreciated

 

I've had my rig for 11 months with 23,000 miles and it has happened to me only once. It was completly dead, I then shut it off and restarted it and everything returned to normal. This happened a couple of months ago and I've had no problems since.

 

similar problems have happened on the checy trucks and trailblazers,check your battery connections,take them off and clean them really good,if that doesnt fix it,then your cluster has a defect,sorry to say

 

To answer you question....No, it has not happened to me. Bummer for you, hope it does not happen again.

 

I'm new to the forum, but I just had this happen to my 07 H3 a few weeks ago (27K miles). The instrument panel was DOA when I started the vehicle. I restarted a couple of time but no change. Then,a couple miles down the road, everything came on just like when you start the vehicle, except the battery light stayed on. I called Onstar when it happened but their diags saw nothing. Turned the vehicle off and on again and the battery light went out. Took it to a dealer a couple of days later but they say nothing is wrong.

Hasn't happened since though. Anyone have a clue what's going on?

 

I've heard of this happening to others also but I have never heard of anyone finding out why and I have never heard of it happening twice. Mine happened a couple of days after I installed my off road roof and marker lights and I thought for sure I'd screwed something up bigtime.
