spray silicon helps get the plugs in. lightly spray both sides of the connectors. blow out all dirt first.

I learned the hard way that this is NOT the right way to put those connectors together! The original photos show the connectors without the hooks in the upward position. You have to raise the internal connector to get the hooks to receive the fuse box connector and lock it in. If the connector is in the lower position, the hooks are folded and when you FORCE it, you're just crushing the hooks and not getting the correct lock and position.

Watch this excellent YouTube on how to install it properly. It goes in like butter and no force. I hope people see this comment and save themselves a ton of pain like bent pins and mystery electrical problems.
