Default Speedometer sticking

I was crusing to the shore on vacation with the family this weekend and my speedometer kept sticking. For a majority of the trip it said i was going zero! I thought that was odd as I wizzed past everyone on the expressway!!! [:-]

Every once in a while it would unstick but genrally it wouldn't go above 40 mph.

Anyone have this happen? If so, how can I get it fixed without an expensive trip to the dealership???

Thanks!

the dash cluster is probably bad. have the dealer look at it. i have had 2 chevy 3/4 ton trucks do this same thing and that was the issue.

Is it expensive to get replaced? I hate the sound of "take it to the dealership"!!! [:'(]

If its out of warranty $300-500. All of mine were under warranty. i thinl they told me somewhere around 400 for the truck. you know what the hummer name will bring.

i would take it to the dealer. there is a special policy warranty that they are doing on that cluster. it should be covered.
