Well, I have it on my wife's. Had on her last one also. Love the auto start feature, just set all of your temp controls when you get out, push lock 3 times and it starts. After 15 mins it turns itself off. As far as loud, it's as loud as the horn is. The alarm really isn't that big of a deal anymore IMO, nobody even pays attention to them when they go off. You may be able to find one cheaper, I just like the fact that it is covered with the rest of the truck under warrenty and it all goes through 1 key fob.

We use a local shop to install our alarms. I don't recommend them as the factory setup is just as good. If you do have one installed I would go through your dealer for sure, they will stand behind it if it were to act up and cause the truck to have issues in the future. $499 is the normal price.

What BRAND is it??

I'd make sure it has a PAGING option. The PAGER goes off on the remote fob if your alarm is going off.

Since, like rhill20 says, no one REALLY pays attention to alarms anymore, at least YOU'LL know if someone's trying to break in/steal your HUMMER.

It all comes back to the wimpy H3 horn again doesn't it? When I get some time I'm making a trip to the junk yard and getting a nice set of eldorado horns to cram in there. Can't be more than a few bucks for them and you can tune them to suit your needs.
