Default Factory 7 PIN Trailer Plug Connector "Hot Charging Wire"

I'll be taking delivery of a small travel trailer in a few weeks and just trying to get everything squared a way to tow/camp without problems beforehand.

For H3s that have the factory towing package, does anybody know if the "12V charging wire" on the 7 way connector is already "energized" or if a fuse or other wired connection needs to be made around the battery or fuse area to energize the "charging" wire/pin at the trailer connection? I've heard different things. The owners manual doesn't specify. I know I could take a meter and check, but if the wire/pin isn't hot, I'm not sure where the wire is going to be that needs connecting. The owners manual only indicates there's a B+ trailer fuse, but that doesn't seem to shed a lot of light on things.

Any help is appreciated.

hi, i have a 2007 hummer h3 with trailer harness for normal trailer on, i have come into a bit of a problem and need some help. first off there was a short on the brake lights which i found under the rear seat, repaired and all fine now now i have a new problem...... when the trailer is connected to the h3 and you use the indicators there is a loud unusual clicking sound in the vehicle, i am thinking that there is not enough power going through somewhere (the trailer plug connecting to the harness did get damaged on the exhaust of the h3) has anyone got any ideas
