It does appear to be constantly engaged and responds to the gas being pressed. I go faster, the fan blows faster and harder. I let off the gas, the fan slows down. Still sound like symptoms of a bad clutch?

@ Brian
My problem was fixed and it's strange my mechanic friend found out that my belt tensioner and U-Joint (rear) was damaged and he replaced both and now I'm driving free of those annoying sounds.

Thanks everyone

Engine roar. I replaced the fan clutch, and my truck still has the problem. It is roaring all through the parking lots cuz I'm driving at low speed of course. But goes away as I accelerate. Any suggestions? Thank you guys.

What vehicle do you have?

Might want to look up how a clutch fan works.

2005 Hummer H2 SUT.
I read up on how it works. It just seems too loud. My buddy has the same truck, but black, and his is quite like his Cadillac EXT.

My '07 H3 was making a lot of relatively high pitched noise anytime the engine was providing power. Let off the accelerator and it got a lot quieter. Turned out to be a crack in the exhaust manifold - ouch! Can you say expensive repair part?

Sometimes I am able to power through the sound and it will go away but that often requires that I stay hard on the gas and keep the RPM's over 3000. Other times, when attempting to power through the roaring sound, I will hear a hissing sound when the RPM's push 4-5000. Anyone had this problem, and how was it fixed. I'm not kidding when I say that the roaring sound is EXTREMELY LOUD, not to mention that my MPG's fall off significantly when this occurs. I've heard effort that it could be the engine fan, but with the fan disengaged, the roar continues.
Hello, did you ever figure out what was wrong with the fan clutch? Mine is doing the same thing. Thanks!!

Welcome to HF.

Please AVOID digging up OLD threads to ask a question. This one is started nearly FIVE YEARS AGO. READ: Old Threads/'Necro-Bumping'

Same thing as what? We do not know what you are driving, miles, recent work, specific symptoms, etc...

When a clutch fan takes a puke, they engage often and not when they are supposed to. So yeah, we all figured it out........

Search first, if you still have questions or you can't find an answer, post up a NEW thread, include year and model, miles, recent work done, and symptoms.
