Dealers Honoring Hummer....

Are GMC dealers required ..by GM..to do work on Hummers ?. I ask...because Mark Martin...( yes..THAT Mark Martin)..has started building a new GMC/Buick/Chev. dealership about 5 miles from me. They bought out an existing dealership that could barely change oil. Have not had my H3 in for anything..28K miles..but his Ford dealership is well thought of..and does excellent work...jv

Go to www.hummer.com (yes, this site is real) for a list of certified Hummer service centers. I have a GM dealer in my small town and they told me they "aren't certified" to work on our H3 (that was about 2 years ago). Truth is, I wouldn't buy a free cup of coffee from that dealership. Would have been nice to have the option available so close to home, however.

My wife and I also own a Ford Escape purchased from a Ford dealer about 55 miles from us. They have a great service department. I haven't taken the Hummer to them, because the dealer we bought the H3 from is about the same distance and they have a great service dept. as well.

Good luck with whatever work you need to have done.

Just went to my local Chevy and GMC dealer last week for warranty work. The Chevy dealer said no dont handle Hummers. The GMC dealer attempted and had no clue how to work on to get my parts and said we'll call you back and never did so f them. When to Cadillac and they did a great job.

Hummer.com shows..Mark Martin Chevrolet..about 20 miles..as a service dealer. My H3 doesn't need any work..just like to know who is capable..Just in case. I have a local mechanic that is a wizard on about anything. If I need work..I'll try him first..

Honorees

For anyone around the Lansing, Michigan area.. Capitol Cadillac where I bought my Hummer is a certified Hummer service center. Nice place and so far they have always done me right.:)

Hummer.com also referenced the 2 worthless dealers in Rochester to service Hummers...found out the hard way stopping in. Terrible customer service. Still no call from the GMC dealer on my warranty work.....

Kick Azz! Glad they took good care of you. Cadillac of Novi does the same wash and spot wax after a warranty service too. Good to know there is another dealer in the area that takes care of us HUMMER owners!:D

It seems like Cadillac dealerships are a better option than Chevy/GMC. The one I go to is a Chevy/Cadillac dealership and they do their Hummer work on the Caddy side. I could be completely wrong on this, but just seems like most of the "I get great service from my dealer" comments refer to Cadillac shops.

Sewell Cadillac in Dallas has handled my H3T service... courtesy car wash and vacuum with every service... and a loan car... a Cadillac CTS. Highly recommended !

Exactly what happened with my last visit. Car wash, vacuumed out, and I drove a CTS for a couple days. They even talked saved me $110 on a new windshield. They don't do windshields, but they have a mobile come in for that. This company quoted the dealer $300. Another place quoted me $197. I told the dealer this, then told them to have them do it anyway 'cause it was really bad, rapidly growing crack right through my field of view, and right before Xmas so it would have been a week or two before I could get it fixed. Dealership called me back and told me they got this place to price match at $190 'cause I was going to take it elsewhere if they didn't.

humding, post up your own thread and ask for suggestions on where to take your HUMMER for service in your area. Oh, please try to use a peroid or punctuation in your posts. It was very hard to decipher what you where trying to say.:D

Don Ledford Cadillac in Cleveland, TN (Chattanooga Buick GMC Cadillac Chevrolet dealer in Cleveland Tennessee - New and Used Buick GMC Cadillac Chevrolet dealership Dalton Hixson Ringgold Tennessee) has done warranty work on my H3 several times in the past year. Even though I live in Houston, TX, I still go home to North GA and have them take care of my Hummer. Just a few weeks ago they did the repair when my climate control fan control went out. Even though it is not covered under warranty, they helped me work through 1-866-HUMMERS and got it fixed as some kind of customer loyalty deal. Didn't cost me a penny. The service manager, Ken Stegall, really goes above and beyond.

I'm fairly new to Houston so even though there are GM dealers closer that will work on the Hummer, it is worth it to me to stick with a good one that I know.. and they know me. Plus, it gives me an excuse to take the truck to North GA and play in the woods!

Sounds like the majority get our work done at Cadillac dealers. Mine goes to Don Thorton Cadillac in Tulsa, OK. Always excellent work, always a free wash no matter why I'm in there. Free loaner had a CTS once and a H3 another time.

Flow Cadillac in Winston-Salem NC has done well by me. It is a 2hr. drive but still is my closest authorized dealer according to Hummer.com. Some of my local Chevy/GMC dealers have done some small warranty work for me and did a good job. I just make it a "get out of town day" and try to enjoy it. I feel better when a former Hummer dealer has hands on my truck. They may not be any better, but I feel more at ease. It has worked so far.

Bought mine there. Only been back once for anything Hummer related (my damn power steering reservoir cap disappeared?) and it was years ago while still a Hummer/Cadillac dealer.

I called service and told them it was gone, they said they weren't sure it was a warranty item. I said if my bumper fell off, I would expect that to be covered, so why not a PS Cap????

They called back and said they ordered one and would call when it was in. Got a call about a week later, stopped by over lunch, pulled in the service bay, popped the hood, service tech came over with cap, put it on and we BSed for 15 minutes about my Aid Doc Intake, MagnaFlow Exhaust and PCM tune.

H32006 02-01-2012 04:37 PM

Where have all the Hummer servicing places gone?!

The service I get nearby is horrible. 2 hours to change oil? Delivered back even dirtier than when I drop it off.

They were not a Hummer dealership, but Buick, GMC, etc.

A former Hummer dealership, which is fantastic, is 120 miles away, so it is not viable.

Extremely frustrating.

hardcharger2064 02-01-2012 06:53 PM

that sight gave me all caddilac dealers.....
