Then at dark, the headlights come on..then if you drive into daylight the headlights goes off and just the amber running lights stay on..Unless you cancel the whole default program by turning the Switch to off monentarily.

I think I have the answer to my questions by reading this thread. I just purchased a brand new 06 H3 black. Now that I have one I am looking out for them on the road. I have noticed that some have the turn signals as DRL's and others have the lower beam headlights. Also, I have noticed that the GM logo is in different places. I can only assume that earlier build units have turn signals as DRL's and newer ones have headlights and that the GM logo is next to the H3 on older ones and closer to the windshield on newer ones. Agree?

yea there are a few changes made, another one is the black center piece thing on the rim on older build dates and all silver on newer ones. Also newer ones have a small change cubby thing in front of the shifter(in an auto) older ones don't.

also the newer ones that have the headlights as drls are not a lower beam headlight. It is a single filament bulb so the same bulb is on for drl and for headlights. I think a lower voltage is sent for drls though cause I tested in my driveway and the beam is definately dimmer for drls.

I did notice that the Drl's are not as bright as the regular low beams. So far I am digging this thing. I traded a 2003 TrailBlazer for the H3 and it is a very different machine. I has a better ride and is a lot of fun to drive.

don't know if you are planning on it but be careful if you change out your bulb for the fake HID looking ones. I did mine and after a few weeks the entire bulb harness/plug melted. The drl's bieng on all the time overheated the wires.
