Yep, the DRL fuse (39) controls ONLY the DRL's I have gotten used to them and yes they are the law in Canada, eh?

Why do they bug you so much? They're a safety item and you can't even see them while driving. Just curious.

I am not 100% sure I want to get into a debate on DRLs, but here in Europe I would say a high percentage (90+%) don't have DRLs. So, granted I am driving a big American SUV, but the DRLs make me feel like I am standing out in the crowd just that much more (i.e., target). I do, however, feel like they do do their job in the safety department. I have noticed more peope turning in front of me or pulling out in front of me when I drive my Ford Explorer (without DRLs). When in the H3, I notice drivers catching themselves and waiting ... or are they just waiting to look at the bad *** HUMMER -LOL.

Happy 4th of July all. Be safe (with or without your DRLs).

hi! im really curious on how to turn off the drl for my 07 h3.. how do you turn it off? is there a switch to turn them off? im not sure if the canadian version is different from the us. I'm using HIDs so I really dont like my headlighhts always turn on even on daytime. my switch is always on 'auto'. and I'm seeing other h3 here in canada that doesn't have their headlight turned on during the day. just their parking lights. im not sure if they are '08 or '09 h3s. thanx! hope I can find out how to turn them off.!

Any time you have an amp draw on a running car, like DRL's, it draws current from the battery and intern it requires the alternator to engage and recharge the battery
a running alternator is a drain on the engine which uses more fuel
albeit very little fuel, but when you consider that DRL's are on constantly, it does lower gas mileage
