Climate Control Fan - not working (2006 H3)

Hello - I have an issue I was hoping someone has dealt with. When the air conditioning or heat is on the round gauge to control how strong you want it to blow out of the vents (labeled 1,2,3 or 4) is not working. The center gauge - images below

When I turn the gauge from "off" to "on" (shown as 2 on the image below) the light comes on on the gauge to the left of it and I can hear a "click" coming from the engine.

I tried replacing several fuses to see if that was the problem, and didn't fix the problem.

I replaced:
Fuse 22 - Mass air flow sensor, purge solenoid
Fuse 48 - air conditioning clutch
Fuse 59 - climate control
Fuse 82 - climate contol fan

I also saw there is a "Relay" marked "87" called "Heating, Ventilation, and Air conditioning - anyone ever have to replace one of these - could that be it?

Also wanted to mention the A/C and heat are working, when you switch to either you can feel hot or cold coming out of the vents - just very lightly.

Thanks for any help or suggestion - Happy New Year!

Eric

fan sw,,again

the light comes on on the gauge to the left of it and I can hear a "click" coming from the engine.
that click and light is the air cond kicking in. push the light to turn it off.
the fan has been discussed to death and back, do a search and you can read till next year, if you are fast!

there is a harness under the glovebox that melts and has all kinds of issues. like tom said, just do a search and you will see how to fix it/ replace it. assuming this is your issue, you arent the only one. its very common. mine went bad as soon as i pulled off the car lot when i bought it, while it was snowing. great timing right?

Thanks guys - sounds to me like the Blower Motor from what I am reading and everyone is sayings. Does anyone happen to know what "Relay" #87 is? Usage says "Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning? Looks like it is the Blower Motor, but want to rule everything elese out. Thanks

Like Hummphrey says it is probably the blower motor resistor that have melted. Hapend to my 06 aswell, its a common issue on the h3 and colrado. Its a cheap part and you can raplace it easilly yourself.

Hi Andreas - I appreciate your response, I'll pick up a blower motor resistor and replace it. I'll let everyone know if that fixes it. Thanks

if you read the previous posts, its usually melted connections,NOT THE resistors. there were clear pics unless the mods in their wisdom deleted them!!
